VK Singh adopted Mirpur Hindu village for AGY

GHAZIABAD:  Member of Parliament (MP) from Ghaziabad and Union Minister general (retired) VK singh on Sunday said that he had adopted mirpur Hindu village in loni block under the central governemtn’s adarsh gram Yojna (AGY) programme.

This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called on all MP’s to adopted a village in  their respective constituencies under the scheme and carry out basic development works.

Singh had come to the city to participate in a programme organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra at the Mahamaya Stadium. He said that the village was selected as per the AGY norms.

“As per the norm for the selection of villages under the scheme, we have chosen several villages in the entire consitituency and a draw of lots was conducted. Following the process, Mirpur Hindu village was selected. The village will witness several development activities such as upgradation of sewerage, roads and medical facilities. The other villages in the constituency will also get the same attention,” said Singh.
