HTC enters imaging business

In terms of design, HTC definitely put function over form. In the politest terms possible, the Re looks like something you picked up in a bargain bin at Home Depot — it closely resembles a short end of plastic pipe. But there is a method to the madness. The design is intended to sit comfortably in hand while offering wide angle image capture. Its essentially a big lens situated atop a palm-sized length of plastic tube. To spice up the lackluster look, HTC will be offering the Re in four colors: white, navy, teal, and orange. It isn't pretty, but it works and it's not uncomfortable to use though I can't imagine wanting to walk around town with one strapped to my person.

ET Review: Spice Smart Pulse

Price: Rs 3,999

NEW DELHI: There's a reason why smartwatches are not catching on as fast as the makers would like — they're too expensive for what most people consider an unnecessary gadget. If you want to test the waters, Smart Pulse is available at a more palatable price of Rs 3,999. The box includes the watch, two extra bands, charger + cable & a Bluetooth (mono) headset.

The Smart Pulse is not really a smartwatch per se — Spice is taking a different approach — they took a regular watch-phone (many examples are available in the market) and added an app that allows it to send notifications to an Android

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

Price: Rs 44,800

NEW DELHI: All tablets are not the same — and this point will be driven home in the first five minutes of holding and using Samsung's new Tab S. Sure, there are certain similarities with the other Galaxy tablets but this one in particular feels like it's from the future. The combination of the super-thin bezels, light weight, extraordinary 6.6mm thickness and gorgeous super amoled display make for a device that is nothing short of an engineering marvel.

The iPad Air — already a super-thin device at 7.5mm is easily bested here — the achievement is further highlighted by the fact that the Tab S feels
